I have a motorhome based on a Ducato cab and chassis with a 2.8l JTD diesel engine. Its 9 years old but has only done 13,000 miles. It does not seem to have much power for such a large engine. The sensor won't be faulty, but may be out of sync, check pulley alignment, make sure you haven't disturbed cam timing if you had belts/pulleys off.
