Posted December 29, 2015. Hi all, This is a quite FYI for anyone out there who has a 1.4 TDCi and feels that its a bit slow or sluggish when accelerating or indeed lacks throttle response, if the car is running as it should be and is well serviced and is still a bit slow read on. At this point I would also suggest to give the MAF a quick clean
I need to remove and clean the EGR valve on my 1.4 tdci zetec. Does anyone have any advice or a procedure before i start. Cheers Not very helpful, but if it's anything like the 1.6 then pay someone else to to it, they're a bastard to do! Have to remove the windscreen trim & work blind at the back of the engine, can't see a bloody thing [ANGRY FACE]

Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi Mk2 - Limp Mode, split in rubber hose / connector - elekie&a/c doctor : This looks like an air intake hose that directs air from the intercooler pipe into the inlet manifold. Why don't you run the car into a Ford parts dept and let them identify the part .It probably has some type of part number or id code stamped on it.
My focus was losing power when up to temperature and I got the following error codes using Forscan: P1412-60 - EGR valve frozen P0490-20 - EGR Circuit high P042F-40 - EGR Stuck closed P042F-C - EGR stuck closed So, I brought it to the garage and they fitted a new EGR valve - Haas I believe.

I have blanked my 1.6 tdci EGR valve. The problem is that when I rev to 3000 under load it goes into limp mode. This was the exact problem as before blanking. Any suggestions, I have been told I just need to clear the fault?
The first line of approach was to see if we had any serial fault codes. This produced two codes; P0191 (low fuel pressure) and P0251 (suggested that the pressure regulator solenoid in the high-pressure pump was running an unusually high duty cycle). With these two fault codes, a picture began emerging that there was insufficient fuel rail pressure.
